Guys,

I have noticed a few minor rust bubbles appearing on my 2005 (55) F430 Spider F1.
I wondered if anyone else has experienced anything similar? I'm not the original owner and the car has been serviced by any Indy for a while now, so I am doubting if there is any point at all in going down the 'warranty' route.

I'll post up some pics later, but the areas are door mirror fixing points, rear wing where the bumper meets. Bottom of one door. I'm in the process of getting quotes to spray and address some other minor paint blemishes at the same time.

All comments welcome,

Thanks

David

It's quite normal, aluminium corrosion starts in a bubble, don't let it get too bad as it powders and dissappears unlike steel. Easy repair but you need to choose your end of paint lines carefully, not really a fan of smart repairs as they don't age so well.

You're in Essex IIRC? I have a mate in Sidcup who is an expert painter and should be able to sort that. He's done a few cars for people off Club Scud and I wouldn't take my Ferrari's anywhere else. PM me if you want his details.

Don't assume you can't get this sorted under warranty just because it's been serviced outside the official network.

There was no paint warranty with my 355 in 1995, you were kind of fortunate they bothered to paint it at all. Did the F430 come with a paint warranty, if so this car is 8/9 years old...
