F430 Spider - Battery Replacement
Discussion
Can anyone give me the exact dimensions of the F430 OEM battery?
I'm looking to replace with a Bosche / Verta / similar however don't want to play about with re-routing the wires or obtaining longer bolts for the bracket (i.e. want to get the same height of battery if possible).
On the battery: Any recomendations? Bosche S5 appears to get good reviews however unsure of size comparison. S6 is too big (see it on a blog somewhere) unless you want to play about with the wire set up.

You may have seen it on my blog: http://aldousvoice.com/2014/02/10/ferrari-f430-bat...
I prefer the Bosch S6 AGM battery but you do need to cock about with the wires. The S5007 is 15mm shorter and the same height as the OEM unit I pulled out of the car (it is also the same width and depth).
Note that the S5 isn't a VLRA which is recommended as it is inside the cabin. You might want to see if Varta do a VRLA in that size.

Thanks Voicey - very helpful.
The S5007 doesn't appear to fit the F430, according to various websites I have checked anyway. Starting to get quite confusing finding one to be honest.
The S5006 (which fits the F430 apparently..), S6, Exide and all Verta batteries appear to be the same size of 278mm, 190mm, 190mm....? Assume any of these means I need to mess about with the wires.

Both batteries have the same footprint 278x190mm. The S5007 is 175mm tall and the S5006 is 190mm tall. Both will fit, but if you go for the taller one you'll need to re-route the cables as per my blog. The S5007 doesn't appear to fit the F430, according to various websites I have checked anyway. At the end of the day it's your car so do as you please. However, if I was going to put a wet battery in then you may as well go for the shorter one and save the cocking about with the wires. If you decide to go for the taller battery then you may as well get the AGM S6 as it wont spill.
