Collecting this on Tuesday, rather excited and looking forward to some decent weather to use it!

Had slight issue getting the demo car in my garage (they dont fit through a std single door) so what started as a car purchase has now knocked onto becoming a full garage makeover.. Oops.

Wow. Gorgeous.

Congratulations.

Proves that the enthusiasts are still on Pistonheads !
I hope it is even better than your expectations (and that the garage refurb goes well).

Congratulations. I'm pleased to see one in a different colour, looks fantastic. Not quite as brave the bright green one though wink

I had exactly the same problem.
Fortunately with the mirrors in I had a few mm either side.
The Mclaren is even wider, so that's a no go for me.
Anyway, congrats on the purchase - looks great.

What size aperture do you need to get it in ? I have a large double garage with single doors with the openings being 210 cm.
The mirrors on the LP570 -4 are the widest point still even when turned in but I have about 5 cm spare either side

I had earmarked a 458 spider as the next car but not if I have to spend £10k rebuilding a garage

Is there such a thing as a standard garage door? I have single doors and my 12C fits in, mirrors in or out.

About 7' is standard I beleive. I've just put a roller shutter on mine approx 14.5 foot wide. Did the work myself door price £940 including motors etc. Plenty wide enough for the 458. You could drive it in sidewards(-:.

Sounds about right, im told 458 is 7ft 2" with mirrors in.

New Door is 5.4m, motorised and alarmed. £1800 for door fitted, £250 for steel and days labour for builders

Sorry to go o/t but I am looking to do the same to my (similarly modern) garage. Am I right in saying about £2,500 all in including door, steel and labour? Just comparing against a quote I received recently.... Cheers

And again (on thread) gorgeous car!

Yes, that should cover it .... also included remote and motor for door in that price.

I did initially ask a 'garage door centre' to quote. They couldnt be bothered coming to survey and gave a guideline of £3500-£4000. They reckoned on £900 for the steel alone..

Far better going to a jobbing tradesman on this stuff, less mark up than a showroom driven door centre.

Thanks on kind comments re the car

Its worth noting that with a shutter door is supported at the ends only therefore the steel is installed to form the aperture!. I've also noticed on some modern double garages have a division that is there purely to divide the doors therefore offers no support. In this instance it's knock the central column out and chuck in a shutter.

Unfortunately mine was in two sections .... Annoyingly.
