Hi Guys, many of you will recognise me from my Porsche past, I now spend most of my time on the Ferrari section.

Few questions for comment please, I have a friend of my father who is thinking of selling his 993 TT, car has 54k miles, 4 previous owners, present owner for last 10 years covering 12k miles in that period so just used as a weekend toy, the owner has asked for my input / help as he works abroad.

Car is Arena red, and has black and Arena interior (never seen one like it so arena seat inserts and door cards could be after market)
Apparently he did advertise on here sometime ago but overseas work comitments make it a little difficult to show the car to potential buyers.

So the questions, what is its value and what price should we pitch it at ?, a look on here suggests around the 50k mark, when I nearly bought a 993 turbo a good few years ago Arena was somewhere between 5-10k behind other colours, is Arena still an unloved colour ?

If the sale goes ahead (depending on the valuation on here mainly)would a private sale be sucessful for this type of Porsche or should we try SOR via the likes of 911 virgin or similar ?

There is no rush so I am tempted to try a private sale (as normal)and if no interest think of other options.

I have not seen the car but on face value and the few pics it seems to be a nice example.

Thoughts / value please

so would we say Arena is back in fashion and not the kiss of death it used to be ?

As you say a bit brighter than arena but looking at pictures owner has sent me Arena seems to have aged well.

Anyone any comments on value or anyone here follow the market for this model ?

Do you know what the more I look at it ......... I quite like it :-)

Is that interior genuine Porsche does anyone know ? looks like a partial retrim, but looks really nice in photos, did porsche do the Autograph or individual range at that time ?

Well for those still awake at the back ....

Some research today (its raining now) shows 7 cars on Pistonheads and 2 on Autotrader, the mileage and price range is between 46k and 82k miles and price between £48k and £60k with all the variables in between, for example the cheapest car at 48k is not the highest mile car its only done 68k miles, and the highest mileage at 82k miles is one of the 5 £60k cars but is Guards Red, as with all these types of car I would suggest buying / pricing to sell on condition not mileage.

I have still to get over and view the car, I have seen so many cars described as "immaculate" cars in my time I will wait and see but if it all stacks up I think we should advertise privately at £48,750

Yes I was wondering about that, although a buyer may wish to have his own independant inspection done.

Hi Guys, I went to view the car tonight so as I know what I am talking about in the event anyone is interested.

I have to say the car is in really good condition, if that interior is not a factory option then it is a really good job, it really does go well with the car, not sure if you can see in the previous picture but the leather is the perforated type like the factory.
Anyway, bodywork is in pretty much perfect shape to be honest, car has recent new Pirelli tyre, all discs appear to be fairly recent as there is no lip on them.
As a buyer I would say the wheels could maybe do with a refurb, and the calipers are a little off colour.
I have seen the service book and log book stating 4 previous, i didnt get chance to plough through all the receipts and invoices but appears to be plenty, just need sorting into date order etc.
Will try and get some more pictures up.

Morning guys, for those that were following, I now have the car at my house, collected last night, I have to say for what is now a 17 year old car what a fantastic drive it is, so quick and planted on the road and yet driving through central London so easy with a light clutch action and slick gear change.
Anyway plan is to give a valet clean and get some nice photos for the add, anyone interested in buying give me a shout.

If you mean the owner, I think we are going to advertise at £48 something to allow for a bit of negotiation for wheel refurb etc.

Some big gaps in the service history which will put some people off but the mileage is low so just needs to be checked out properly.

Why was it off the road for 2 years?
It wasn't, it was just off the UK road, he had it with him ( still relatively unused ) in Poland where he works, hence the service over there.
Car is not collector perfect but seems a nice car to me.

Looks nice and good value for a low mile turbo.
Arena is also a good colour but an acquired taste and the calipers need some TLC. I would have been interested but timing is wrong for me & doubt I would have sold the 6T in time. That said gone are the days when I have £40k+ sat in the garage doing 2-3k miles pa.

IB car for me again PRE 89.
I did speak with my pal that is looking for a car but as you well know you can lead a horse to water etc etc ....
