Asking this on behalf of a friend...

1987 model 928 S4 auto has a faulty ABS sensor. Not sure if front or rear.

Firstly, are they different and secondly where can I source them, preferably without paying full dealer price please ?

Any advice appreciated.

Front and rear differ.

Good explanation here

Or Jenniskins (brilliant 928 resource)

They are not too pricey.

Replaced one on mine last year.

Before you start replacing, remove each one and clean the trigger ring. Sometimes crap on it stops the magnet from reading the teeth.
