911 3.2 / 964 valve clearences
Discussion
I had my 911 3.2 egnine rebuilt and one of the upgrades that was made was fitting a 964 profile cam.
I put the car into my local Porsche specialist for a service which includes checking and adjusting the valve clearences. I mentioned to him that the engne has a 964 cam fitted and asked him whether this changed the valve clearences. He told me it would be the same as a standard 3.2.
I don't know much about engines but I thought that the profile of the lobes on the cam dicate when the valves open and close, affecting the clearence between the camshaft and the valve lifter. Perhaps I have misunderstood this or over simplified.
I have contacted the engine builder to ask his advice but thought I would see what the general consensus was on here while waiting for a response.

With a bit of internet research I think I have answered my own question. They are indeed the same.
