Hi

Long time stalker on the forum but finally took the plunge today and bought a 1987 Carerra 3.2

Car has copious amounts of well documented history and a service probably due shortly so keen to get feedback on recommends from forum members.

I live in the Tunbridge Wells area and have used Paragon years ago for a 997 but haven’t had a Porsche for maybe 10 years (have been immersed in the world of old Merc SL’s in the interim) so your thoughts welcome on others local to me (my wife has a Macan but I probably would steer clear of OPC generally)

Pic of car taken this afternoon after concluding deal to purchase…delivery in a few days 😎

Congratulations! looks a stunner.

I haven't used 9e AKA nineexcellence but they come highly recommend by members here and they are approx 30mins from you.

That’s the second time I’ve seen this car in a week. It’s gorgeous.

Sorry can’t help with the servicing. Enjoy it though they’re great cars.

Congratulations on the car, it looks lovely.

Near you are some good independent places for Porsche service, Paragon are excellent, Precision Porsche are very good as well, and LaRose Porsche are in the area as well, slightly further afield you have 9Excellence and Parr.

I'd say any of those should be fine.

I live in TW and have used Paragon to look after any Porsche i have owned, modern or classic. From basic annual servicing to track prep and even an aircooled engine rebuild. Nothing ever too much, super guys.

Thanks everyone for the advice/feedback.

Regarding insurance for 911 classics…any recommendations? I used Peter Best for my old Mercs but they suddenly ramped up their prices in the last year or two.

I'm with Footman James for my 993. Agreed value policy. Worth a quote, cheaper if you're a member of a car club.

Classicline are popular.
