After buying my 964 I decided to get the rust bubbles on front windscreen corners sorted. Booked into bodyshop but had a couple of months wait. As the wings were to be removed to get at scuttle corners it would allow us to see if any other grot in inner wings!

Looks slightly different from the way the 993 can go - but still the same silly design.

Unlucky..... or did you know at purchase from the bubbles and was priced accordingly?

A couple of small holes in top of inner wing which is impossible to see without removal of wings! Wings all covered in factory sealer and were a bugg*r to remove. If your wings have never been removed it would be worth having a check! On the edge of wing next to window corner my wings were quite rusty but was told they could be repaired but I decided to go with a new pair from Porsche! Crikey! How much!

Fairly usual for an aircooled 911.

Are you going to uncover all the covers off in the usual spots (headlights, wheel arches, sill covers and under bumpers)?

At least 964's are usually better protected than 3.2 Carreras.

This was a 5mm paint bubble on the near side base of my 993 screen. It had been there a year or so and I packed it with dinitrol (car is rarely used in the wet and garaged).

Both wings came off and the O/S treated as well but didn’t have any corrosion.

Wings were carefully removed and reused after refinishing and protecting, some slight surface rust had just started to appear at the base of the wing.

Lots of clear dinitrol and the liners are removed annually and the crevices cleaned before drying and liberal coatings of the stuff……

Yes seller was totally honest and told me about window corners! Seller had had the car for 7 years and was working his way through the car. It has had an engine rebuild, new clutch, new bilstein/H&R,new engine tinwear and was well serviced. He was going to start the bodywork next but divorce mean't the car had to go!

As for priced accordingly it was £18'000 cheaper than anything currently advertised so am happy enough on the pounds front! Man maths tell me that I bought my 993 10 years ago for £24'000 and when it was written off this year I got £58'500 for it which nearly bought the 964!
