Hi,

I am in the market for a 912 or an SC. I have seen a couple of LHD ones that seem interesting. I had a question about car finance and registration. I will need to get finance on the car. From speaking to a few lenders, I was told that the car would need to be UK registered. Silly question but can I register the car before completing the purchase? If not, then I wouldn't be able to buy the car without finance.

No, you can't register the car before buying it! What seller would take that risk?

You also need the bill of sale and tax receipts to register it.

You had your coffee this morning?

you cant import a car if you dont have the money lol.
I think the seller might object to both man and car gone and no money .?

you need to find an agent or independent who can handle the process for you including the outlay and finance . This wont be free.

Thanks All,

I definitely was lacking coffee when I posted this. Guess a bank loan is the only option.

I used My Car Imports to import a LHD 991 Touring from Germany in April 2020. Some rules may have changed since then. Have a look at their website it may give you a few ideas as to what is required..
