Carrera RS 2.7
Discussion
I pulled up at the lovely Gloucester services on the M5 today and parked next to this beauty.
What an awesome car, in immaculate condition and getting it's fair share of attention from people passing by. We did a lot of miles today and this was by some stretch the most exciting thing I saw on the road!
Number plate had 148L in it just incase you know the owner or they're on here:

Assuming genuine, looks like a rare rhd M471 ‘Sport’ (aka Lightweight)
Time was when the 2.7RS was considered the ‘blue chip’ 911 to own or aspire to.
But, ‘new money’ now seems to be more obsessed with contemporary metal. Which is a shame, because a 2.7RS is probably more engaging, more accessible and more rewarding on the UK’s compromised roads than a 991/992 GT3.

It was a lovely car and I thought it was probably genuine but wasn't entirely sure. Thanks for the extra bits of info.
Odd to think my knackered lardy old Skoda estate sat next to it had more bhp, though I don't doubt for a second that the Porsche would be quicker in any circumstances and way more entertaining to drive!
On a sidenote I was VERY pleased with this spot, a valuable, rare and very cool car out on the road. That was until my good friend told me he drove past a silver EB110 in the Wye valley on the same day....

I was at a 50th anniversary event at Le Man last year, that car was there with about 10 other cars rom the UK. That car is a genuine M471 so a very rare car.

I was lucky enoug to be doing one of my track sessions when this came out on track…proper pinch yourself moment
One of the years we were at the classic, the usual track sessions were on and amongst the various classic was the good old museum 917 No, 23 going round. It never made it out into the scheduled race session so must have been amazing to find yourself out on a track lap with this blasting past. [url]

Yes I was a very lucky boy…proper lifetime experience. I remember seeing it in my mirror a bend behind me and thinking that after the next bend I’d have to make sure I was well out of the way. At which point it just flew past me Owned by an Italian who also owned this 3.0 RSR which he drove like he stole it….I’d rather not have been on track at the same time he was driving that if I am honest. Bit of a lunatic…..
