The 993 is due a major service this year and I’m after recommendations on who to use.

After being let down badly by some so called specialists over the many years I’ve owned this car I’d like to use someone who knows air cooleds & takes some pride in their work - impossible?

Cheers in advance

Steve Winter at Jaz in St.Albans

Looked after both my 3.2 Carrera's, 993 C4 and now 996 turbo.

And he runs a few aircooled cars! smile

I’d have a chat to RPM Technik too.

I’ve used Jaz twice. Wouldn’t use them again.

Many thanks for the replies.

Seems some varying views here.

Unfortunately Autostrasse isn’t the company it was.

Anyone used JZM? Or ADH in Braintree?

Cheers

I've been using JZM for somehing like 20 years for my 964 and then 993.

No complaints at all although they're not cheap.

Ah right. I've not had a Porsche for years. Was happy when I used them back in the day though. Shame.

They are a little further north than you've asked for, but Reason Porsche outside of Ipswich are superb.

Fellow 993 owner in Herts. JAZ have been great. Would recommend.

Dom (ex-Autostrasse) is now at ADH. He used to work on my 996 and I saw him work on a fair number of 993 and 964 cars so not just the water cooled stuff. I trust him.

I’d agree with this....they’re pricing model seems to be OPC minus 10%. I’ve used them and both RPM....would use RPM because they’re cheaper and also more thorough. Steve McHale who used to run the JZM workshop/servicing side of the business has retired...he had 30 years plus experience which is hard to replace.

I'd avoid Autostrasse after recent experiences. Any other insights into ADH? PM me if preferred.

DSD motorwerks, Billericay??
He looked after my 964 twin turbo for 6 years and still keeps on top of my 914-6.
He rebuilt the box last year.
His skills stretch from early 356’s through to the odd 991, but the core of his work is aircooled.
Often has intersting projects on, with two 935’s being worked on a month back which in my eyes are aircooled royalty.

Didn’t know Steve retired. He really knew his stuff and spent hours talking about older models. Big loss for them..

Same here. On my last-but-one visit I was late for work after chatting to Steve for a while.

I didn't see Chris either. Has he also retired?

I have used RSR Porsche in Bishops Stortford, Yon and Craig are brilliant, both very use to the air cooled ranges and can handle everything from a simple issue to a full engine rebuild.
