930 Awkward sod

So like an idiot I tried adjusting the engine lid latch as it wasn't opening on the pull handle easily......guess what? ......now it won't open at all!
Tried the usual two man thing with one on the handle and one pushing down the lid etc etc all to no avail!
Is the there any way without removing the exhaust?

push the lid down and try to wiggle it sideways while someone is pulling the release cable?

on flat lid cars it's a good idea to remove the grille while adjust the ;latch so that you can reach in if it gets stucks - no idea if this would work on a turbo though.
