Good garage in Bucks for servicing and upgrades on a 70s 911
Discussion
I have a 76 Impact bumper car and I'm looking at getting some mods done (need a quieter exhaust, wouldn't mind tweaking the engine, and want some upgraded seats, new seatbelts fitting as well as some trim tidy ups and a detailed service.
I'm in Bucks.
Anyone know a good specialist and can make a reccommendation?

This lot are keen: http://www.ninexmotorsport.co.uk
There's not a lot that can be done with a K-Jetronic engine, if I were you (unless you want to open up the engine) I'd stick the system on a shelf, bolt on a couple of PMOs and replace the exhaust with SSIs.

But then again the owner is a friend of mine
Tognola Engineering in Datchet know all about early 911's. I have used them for 35 years with no problems. Peter Tognola is the hands on owner.

Thanks folks - thats way more options than I expected!
For clarity - It's a 2.7 (non S) narrowbody running a 3.0 SC engine with a few upgrades to make it fun as a fast road car. Needs to remain everyday usable, so open to upgrades (It currently has 3.2 brakes, anti roll bars etc). Car was nut and bolt restored 10 years ago and is in great but not concours condition making it a fun daily for me.
Aim is to turn it into a properly fast street sleeper (currently at around 200bhp and 1100kg), whilst keeping the looks fairly standard. I won't be backdating it or grafting on Turbo arches etc as it will lose the charm (and the drivability on back roads) that a narrowbody car has. Woudl liek to fit better wheels and tyres for more grip (15" minilites at present with 195 65 p6000s which are a bit skittish). Like the idea of campagnolos (not gold though!) or a genuine set of Fuchs. Would prefer wider rears but understand that this can be an issue with rubbing and depends on tyre, suspension and wheel offset etc so need some expert advice...
Right now it's running twin rear 4" pipes which boom and resonate (And sound great at 4rpm, but set of car alarms at 2krpm which is not ideal!) - want quiet pipes at idle and low revs and great sound at high revs.

These wheels? I believe you can usually squeeze a 7" rim under a narrow arch.

I'm determined not to go all Magnus on this Car, but his choice of wheels is pretty good...

so...turn it into a high compression (10.5:1) short stroke twin-plugged 3.2 running on PMO carbs or EFI. Have it built to rev some more and use GE60 cams. Will be a blast from 4k to 8k Costly, but its only money right?
Bert
I am going to have to google most of that but it sounds interesting.... Bert
