I am currently watching the market of 964 turbo's with the intention to purchase either rhd or lhd sometime this year and was interested to see the price of the cobalt blue Gmund car go up from 64995 to 69995 recently after being for sale for a good few weeks. Anybody know the story on this one? Why would a dealer put up the price of a car that isnt selling??

They seem rare, thus prices are on the up, but i intend to buy to keep long term. I am even considering importing from the US.

Many thanks

It's a 3.3 so I'd expect the price to be c£20k less than a 3.6 which now easily see £80k+

Bottom line is the market has gone crazy for 964 at the moment. There's a RHD 964RS currently up at £183k.

Most likely they've re-valued it based on market shift. Whether it works in their favour only time will tell. Most likely if you walked in with the readies at the 'old price' they'd probably be interested............

It goes without saying, but even buying from a specialist at these prices I'd have it independently inspected.

I think now and deservedly so 964 turbos are now catching up
Price wise with the rest of the scarcer aircooled variants.. Having owned approx 20 aircooled 911's at last count, if you have a properly sorted one I find them all round hard to beat ;-)

Interested to know if there is alot of difference between the feel of a 930 turbo and the 964, both being single turbo 2 wheel drive? I owned a 1988 930 turbo which was nice but was hoping the 964 was a better drive....

Little difference performance wise, 930 a more raw experience.

964T feels more modern but still nicely weighted, controls wise.

Much better brakes that don't lock one front caliper up under heavy braking.
Power steering and much better ventilation make it a nicer place to be over long distances.
I much preferred my 964T to the 930. Mind you the 930 a mate was selling was a 4 speed and I found it a bit too agricultural.

ETA- The suspension is much improved too so yes quite a big difference in feel and confidence.

930 is a great car but +1 on above statement..especially big jump suspension ride/handling over to coil spring suspension
from the original torsion bars
Only the 1989 5speed 930 i had is near the performance of a standard 964 turbo, 3dlz turbo on the 930 matched with a 4 speed gearbox makes it a bit more harder to keep it on the boil. Plenty of mods can be done all the same on any of the cars to improve performance. 964 turbo still keeps it old skool raw with added benefit of some more modern controls etc

I look at US cars also and prices appear to be well on the up over there aswell for 964t and many other air cooled variants, just watched a video the other day on YouTube "drive channel" about values rising on all things air cooled.

Looks very nice and in my favourite colour.

Wrong wheels & exhaust, of course, and it looks like it's been grounded reasonably heavily at the front as the "smile" in the front PU isn't straight.

Car looks fairly nice. Not sure what's going on with non-standard twin exhaust outlet on right and nothing showing on the left?
Either up-graded or re-painted (in red) brake calipers are also non-standard, along with 3.6 chrome 'turbo' badge on engine lid.
looks like the original black 'turbo' badge has been re-located to the glove box door?!

That badge on the rear looks silver not chrome to me. If you browse around the interweb you'll find that a lot of the black / dark cars had the silver badge on the engine lid. Mine has this. Seems too common to me not to be original. Black badge on a black car doesn't make much sense.
