Thoughts on this? RS recreation
Discussion
Thinking of taking a look at it.
Any thoughts or comments on what to look for?

Like the look of that a lot, viper is a cracking colour & seems a good price for Oz where car prices seem ott mental vs Uk prices.
Usual early 911 buying tips, but the top 3= rust rust rust, I'm well out of date ref looking at these but I seem to remember the main bad bits were as ever, kidney bowls, rear arch inner- up & in, & the sills, I'd also look at the front panel how they've fitted the early car one, proper job or a botch & was it a spank that prompted the change to early car front end. Mechanical bits generlaly easer to sort then rot, but if its lived its life in oz the rot may be less of an issue with unsalted roads.
Pal bought a bit of a donkey rep, rotten & pretty much front end off another car, however is all reasonably sorted now, he paid the right price & has had a heck of a lot of fun in it.

There are a few RS recreations in the Brooklands Historic auction coming up. This one was only converted this year!

Did any of the recreations sell ? The market doesn't seem to like them at the moment .
It's not til 30th Nov. The considered opinion on another forum (DDK) from several folks who saw them in the flesh is that they were pretty poor from many angles. Like most things in life, the good ones are not built to a budget with a focus on cosmetics. There are of course many places that do backdated, recreations etc all well but p'headers may remember Chris Harris' green kermis. Built by tuthills. It's no accident that they had a lot of cars in the East African rally recently - see their web page.
