Time warp 930 Turbo
Discussion
How about this approved used car. It looks stunning and the price seems reasonable.

Lovely that one. Odd colour combo but gets away with it. https://finder.porsche.com/gb/en-GB/details/porsch...
Mean looking 930 converted by Alois Ruf!
I’m guessing 400 horses
Imagine a euro trip in this.
Keep the photos coming.

Have you considered PX'ing back to RUF - if they do that type of thing?
I didn’t ask about PX! It wasn’t that type of purchase process. The numbers are quite serious and I really didn’t think that it felt like an option. Plus, the delay between deposit and delivery is measured in years. I drove out to RUF in Pfaffenhausen in my car, for the factory visit, to have my car serviced by RUF and to meet Alois and Estonia Ruf. .
The drive in an 80’s 911 Turbo is perfect for these cars and the chance to play with the torque curve in the autobahn is an amazing experience. My car is in good shape and I got into the 150-160 mph range before needing to slow down for traffic. These 930s feel so planted at high speed.
For anyone interested in 930s, I can report that they have so much going for them:
1. The design is truly iconic
2. They are great over long distances
3. Other people love them
4. They don’t depreciate.
Please keep the photos coming.
I bought my 930 a week ago from Tom Hartley, it seems straight enough, my mate from MLR Porsche (ex-9m) checked it out for me and it needs a few things tidying like the odd spot of corrosion but nothing that is unusual for the model and year. It's in there now and they're going through it to sort any bits that need doing - all these cars need something doing, you have to be realistic and accept that unless it's a 100% refurb then they're going to needs bits doing here and there, they're 30+ years old.
It goes very well, no advisories on the MOT from the shop and it drove as good as anything I've tried, so I'm happy.
I looked at the JZM one but it's less original and I wasn't 100% about it, not saying there is anything wrong with it, but the one I bought is better in my opinion. Mine is a low owner, one bloke had it for 33yrs, then a YouTuber and now me.
The only thing I wanted more is a 964 Turbo but I couldn't find a decent one, at least not as good as this 930 anyway.

To be honest I wasn't looking at exactly when the power kicks in, I'm still getting used to it and a little nervous of that widow-maker nickname, so when the boost kicked in I had both hands on the wheel and I was concentrating pretty hard on the road and handling - which were fine and very predictable, maybe the reputation is from people who aren't used to managing power curves in vehicles with quirky handling.
I have a powerful Caterham and that can be twitchy, the 930 felt a lot more stable, even during boost in rolling corners.

£200k. For a Targa. The least popular of the 930 iterations. Mmm ok.I still don't regret selling my immaculate 1989, G reg, 930 coupe, 5-speed for £23750. I definitely don't at all....(yes I do)
