I’ve been really enjoying my 2017 Macan S for the past 20 months or so, but have always felt like the ride is quite crashy. Not stiff and compliant - just…. Jiggly!

I live in Bristol and the roads here are shocking, but I’ve borrowed a mates Golf R (one could argue a stiff car) and it feels just so much more comfortable to me.

I don’t know if it’s tire spec, seating position, fixed set-up (not air suspension) but has anyone else felt this way? The wheels are 18s. Tires are 255/55/18 and 235/60/r18.

Cheers,

How old are the tyres?

That’s odd.

I had a MY14 MacanS on 20’s with Michelins and it was very compliant. Firm in a sporty way but very comfortable.

Definitely check tyres on both age and brand. Upgrade to
Premium / N rated if needed.

How many miles on the clock?

I doubt it to be honest, I was thinking if they were 7 or 8 years old they may have gone hard.

Someone hasn't gone and put run flats on have they? Haha

Have you got PASM?

It just doesn't make sense as these should be a pretty comfy ride.

What cold pressures are you running?

I used to run 32psi front and 34psi rear cold and that would climb to around 35/36 and 37/38psi when really pushed and they got hot.

Definitely check the tyre pressures. I have 2.4 bar front and 2.6 rear, which is perfectly comfortable even with larger wheels than yours. Check suspension settings (not in Sport+). If that doesn't help, probably need to get it inspected for suspension wear. Is it on a high mileage or had a hard life?
