I'm now fed up with our butter-wouldn't-melt-in-his-mouth, sweet little mini dachshund emptying his stomach into the nearest seat-belt socket in my 2013 Panamera.
Please, has anyone found a suitable rear seat cover or hammock or similar that would prevent this ingress?
He's normally in a padded box, lashed in place with a seat belt and surrounded by towels.

To try to prevent vomiting avoid feeding the dog an hour before driving. I would guess the size of the dog also means its getting a lot more G-force through it compared to a medium sized dog, so it was probably better in a cage with secure dog bed.

Has it always vomited ?

He can usually manage 15-20 minutes in a car. As you say, not feeding within an hour of setting off certainly helps, as does a Travel-eze tablet smashed in with the food.
Our first trip was a long drive home from the breeders - absolutely awful yuck

How is it working out for you?
I looked at loads of those on Amazon (admittedly not that expensive) and they all had at least some one* reviews describing how the fabric started to fall apart.
So, in the mean time, I've modified a plastic sheet, with patches to cover the seatbelt sockets. I'm not having that again!

The Kong hammock is very well made and good value in my opinion. I've had mine over 5 years and no sign of wear although I also lay a towel on top in case our Cockapoo is wet (she has only been sick once in the car on the way back from the breeder). It has a zip to allow a dog seatbelt to clip into the centre buckle so no safety issues.
