I have on my 2019 Turbo and I’ve found them very good indeed, better than the equivalent on our Cayenne. I get the odd flash from oncoming drivers but quite rarely.

I have them on a GT4 and GTS 718’s and really like them, however just bought a new Mercedes with matrix LED lights which are a generation ahead in terms of responsiveness.

Sounds like a nice option too have, going to view a Pan with them at the weekend

Agreed about matrix. I have matrix on a Panamera and 992. They are both excellent, and an order of magnitude better than non matrix Porsche systems. Whether they are worth it may depend how much night driving you plan to do as there is the usual Porsche options tax to pay.

I’m going the other way and looking at getting one of the new S8s but getting a test drive isn’t proving that easy due to a lack of stock anywhere near me. I’d be very interested to hear how the S8 and Panamera compare.

S8 - I have had 4 of the 2002 D2 Final edition models. Not really comparable to the 4.0 TFSI monsters they have now - I looked at these as they seem amazing values but im doing 20-22k miles a year so decided against it. Such a lot of car for the money

Looking to go to 970.2 model Pan 3.0d with air suspension and PDLS+ as options

Last few daily driven cars have been 635d/640d models for about 7 years..... Panamera will be my first Porsche and I'm hoping they are as good as all the owners say

I’m on my third Panamera and have always found them to be amazing cars for long journeys. I have had diesels in the past while mine was in for servicing etc and the engine definitely suits the car. The only issues I would check are whether the front suspension bushes have been replaced and also the A/C compressor. Both items can fail but otherwise, I found the 970 a very solidly built car.

Lovely car, enjoy!! I had two 970, a pre and also post facelift. I find them more refined than the 971 and a little more spacious too.

I’ve still got my 971 Turbo, I’ve had it just over 3 years but have only done 17k miles or so over that time due to a big injury. Mine’s on 57k miles now and it’s having a front end suspension refresh while I’m on holiday (sway arms, top mounts, bushes etc) after a very protracted dispute with Porsche’s warranty provider. I suspect I’ll keep it a while longer seeing as I’ve done disks and pads everywhere in the last 15k miles and after this suspension work, I’m hoping it will be niggle free for a while yet.

That seems like a lot of suspension work for a low mileage car?

It does. I sold the car back to Porsche in autumn 2022 before buying it back in January 2023(!). A few months after buying it back, the suspension was making a lot of creaking noises, particularly when cold or over a speed bump, coming off a driveway etc. it has taken around 10 months of wrangling with the financial ombudsman’s involvement to get Porsche to do the right thing, and they largely have, with my financial contribution being pretty acceptable. I’ve had suspension issues on all the Panameras I’ve owned, from reading some of the North American forums, it seems they’re prone to them. Hopefully once they’re done I’ll have a few years of relatively trouble free motoring.

I’m not 100% certain but looking at the Porsche technical bulletins and going through them with the kind help of JZM and my OPC, we’re all pretty sure we know what the issues are. I’m due to pick the car up later this week and will let you know if the replacements have sorted out the problem. It’s around £4.5-£5k to do all the work, which seems excessive on a car of the age and mileage, particularly when it’s got a Porsche approved used warranty, hence the dispute.

I’m not 100% certain but looking at the Porsche technical bulletins and going through them with the kind help of JZM and my OPC, we’re all pretty sure we know what the issues are. I’m due to pick the car up later this week and will let you know if the replacements have sorted out the problem. It’s around £4.5-£5k to do all the work, which seems excessive on a car of the age and mileage, particularly when it’s got a Porsche approved used warranty, hence the dispute.
It's really interesting that you've got them to replace parts without them "failing." I find the warranty is typically very good, but sometimes it's a battle. For example, I have a broken interior switch that is split in half, but Porsche won't replace it as "it's still functional."

You’re right, and it took a lot of pushing to get PCGB to offer a contribution. It was only feasible to get the Financial Ombudsman involved (easy process by the way!) after following all the processes with the statutory response periods. Fingers crossed it works - my position was that a high end car shouldn’t be creaking 5 months after being sold by an OPC.
