Time for a new (to me) car... been driving my BMW 640d for 4.5 years now. Considering a petrol Macan. Budget circa £25k. Wondering if I can any advice on which model I should be looking at S / GTS / Turbo? If there are any known issues with either that I should avoid? Any big expense at certain mileage that I need to aim below? Any age to avoid / try to be newer than? I estimate I currently do about 12k miles a year. Thanks

Be careful with what you buy as the trade values can vary drastically so a 25k purchase can get you a 17k trade in value straight off the bat! The attempted profit to me seem to be high compared to other vehicles compared to wbac etc

Decide what options you need/want and stick to them! Most adverts seem to be crap and dont list all the options even on obvious stuff like air suspension and pasm!

Also they say mega spec or 3k options and that may be just alloys and the bottom leather upgrade!

Personally I'm after a 2016 face lift you can id them by the pcm unit fitted all the buttons between the knobs =pcm 4, buttons either side of the knobs = pcm 3.1

Watch out for transfer box being replaced It will fail at some point but there is a 7 year warranty on it now.

I've been looking for one for a few months with a 25k budget but I'm after an SD as I can't face 22mpg averages

But honestly 25k doesn't get you many good macans just a lot of bad spec high milers if you try to get facelift so I'm now resolved to having to look at 30k to get anything decent

Macan forum I've found to not be an overly nice place. Everyone just tells you your too poor to own a Porsche basically if you can't but it brand new or from an OPC and pay the horrendous markup they put on yes warranty etc etc

I'd try and get one with a fpsh and Porsche warranty or at least specialist history. The warranty can be extended up to 15 years iirc even after it's been out of warranty by paying for an inspection.

Oh and oil leaks from timing cover due to broken bolts fairly easy to do if they haven't broken but can be a bit of a pig to get them out if they snap while removing them

Yeah I hate that attitude . Like all things you have to spend a bit of time doing your research regarding issues and specs then simply buy the best you can afford . I think you are giving the OP good advice .
