My 2021 Macan GTS battery compartment in the boot seems to have a couple of litres of oil surrounding the battery, The compartment is shared with a huge Bose unit. Does anyone have any idea what this is.......

Could it be a fire risk.........

Are you sure that it is not washer fluid - there are many cases of a pipe failure causing the rear washer to pump fluid straight into the “boot” . I cannot think of any other fluid likely to leak in that area.

It’s definitely oil based, I’ve got rags soaking it up, I thought it might have come out of the Bose amp thing, I’ll check again in the morning on its viscosity, but the carpet or anything else is ‘wet’, it’s like someone has poured oil around the battery.

Could there be a litre of top up oil leaking that you weren’t aware of? Just a thought.

Good point, I’ve had the car about 6months, and it may have been there from the previous owner.

Pano roofs are the work of the devil. Had to clear the drain holes and clean the seals on mine recently. Also treated them with a light liquid silicon dressing too.

Pano roof drain check is part of OPC service checks.
Around £120 to clear if they're blocked.
Not a warranty item.

I'd be having a go under warranty if the washer fluid had leaked into the boot or interior and I'd been using the recommended screen wash and ratio.
