I know, I know, I know,

Don't spec the car for the next owner or 're-sale BUT as prices have increased I could not help myself but to review my original order and do some fine tuning and in the last six months my order has been in I have had a wobble and now unsure of a Macan in Papaya as its, well, it's a bit orange. laugh I have retreated to Volano Grey as being a more sober choice.

Would like to hear people's views on:

a) Papaya with black accents
b) Volcano Grey with silver accents
c) other colour options but I'm not keen on black, white or silver.

Hopefully I will shortly be asked to lock my spec.down and need to be sure as it's a lot of money to get it wrong.

Cheers

Thanks Voodoo maybe just need to see one in the tin to make my mind up.

Honestly, don't go grey. It is a lovely shade of grey they do but everyone specs it now.

Best colour I've seen it in is that Miami blue but I looked at the configorator and they don't offer it anymore? A real shame as that was a lovely colour.,

I saw a volcano grey macan in the compound at my local OPC on a dull day and it looked a bit miserable to me to be honest. I can't get enthusiastic about it but on then other hand is Papaya a bit too shouty? Dunno, I'll wait till I see one in the tin before finalising my spec.

One of the wife's friends has a Papaya Macan with gloss black bits and it looks great. As others have said, Volcano looks very dull unless in full sunlight.

Papaya stitching and seatbelts will make the interior a lot more interesting too.

Papaya is nice and bright when clean but does look dull when dirty.

As a buyer of used cars, it’s hugely depressing to have a sea of grey and black to choose from, but nothing in a proper colour. Buy what you want I’d say - someone else will value it when you come to move it on.

That said, orange is braver than I’d go! biggrin

Papaya, no contest.

When I am on PH/AT looking for a used car, I filter out black, white, crayon, and gray. Who wants to drive around in a large tin of primer?

Villa de Newc currently runs a green, a red, a magenta, and a lively blue.

It's so depressing when spec'ing something new and the dealer is pushing black / gray / silver 'because that's what second owners buy'. Yes you idiot, of course it is, because you've only sold those colours in the first place so second buyers are faced with a sea of dull and no interesting choices.

Papaya looks great and really stands out IRL

I do like a bit of understated grey though. My Macan is Volcano and my GT3 is Agate, and I think it suits them pretty well

Specced them both myself, and very definitely didn't think about resale at any point eg went for comforts in the GT3 so it's worthless!

Well thanks everyone for chipping in with your thoughts.

I do like the carmine red but can't justify the extra cost on premium paint considering my price has gone up £4,500!

You know what? I'm going with my original choice of Papaya with Papaya stitching and belts to give the interior some zing.

I saw one at the OPC when I ordered mine and there must have been something that impressed me to go.for it. It's such a long time ago is six months when you are waiting for a car and the memories fade and if i'm honest I've lost a bit of the enthusiasm for the car in general in waiting so long - and I've got potentially another six months to go yet before I see my car!

Cheers everyone

Worthless! Haha. laugh

Yes that's just me - understated! You'll have me on that fence again.

I recently picked up a papaya Panamera. It looks great in sunlight, it really pops and looks genuinely orange. In dull light it has a brown vibe though, just warning you. My wife and kids called it the brown Porsche but they are just being mean, it’s a great colour and I don’t regret it. Do it!

I know you didn’t ask about interior but the chalk is dreamy. I was a bit worried about that but it’s stunning.

The Gentian GTS does look great especially with those wheels.

Papaya with chalk interior brave option - it's called pebble in the madam range. My local OPC had a Gentian Macan with extended leather in pebble and it looked very special indeed but not sure how serviceable it is in everyday life.

Must get a look at a Macan in Papaya.

I have Papaya with the interior matching stitch and belts. Agree that the exterior looks very different in different lighting. Almost like having 2 for the price of 1. When I first got it I was a bit concerned that it might look like being my mid life crisis, but more people say “nice colour” than “brave choice”. I think if I’d gone with grey I’d be upset at going “boring” more often than I am concerned with having gone “brave” with orange. At least it’s not difficult to find in the car park full of monotone.
