Opinions please, I’m shopping and have narrowed my search down to these, the black car has higher mileage, needs 2 tyres and a wheel refurb, but has Porsche extended warranty until Feb 24. The grey car has 4 new N rated tyres but no warranty (which I’d want, so would have to get the 111 point check done)
Both have full main dealer service history.
Ideally I’d like a tow hitch, is it possible to retrofit the Porsche folding hitch?
Thanks

So for me, the extended warranty would be key; in any event but also down to a horrific experience I had with an OPC sold Cayenne GTS a couple of years ago.

Unless you can persuade the owner/trader to put it in for the 111 check, then I’d be going for the black one. Bear in mind also there’s a 30day period under which you can’t claim on an extended warranty when it’s first put in place, regardless of what the 111 check comes back with.

You can retrofit towbars to these Cayennes. Had one fitted to my GTS (annoyingly given it was then bought back by the dealer a few months later w/o value to the towbar).

I would agree with the above and go with the black one. The Porsche warranty can save you a great deal of money should there be a problem and already having the warranty in place makes it easier to re-new it each year as long as you maintain the Porsche service history.

My Diesel S V8 now has 72,000 and I have made three claims under warranty. I had a new transfer box fitted at 50,000 miles, a common fault with the V8 diesel, probably due to the 635lbs/ft of torque. I had the hot/cold air flap for the heating replaced, it had jammed and I was only getting cold air. I also had the tyre pressure monitoring module replaced when it failed. I pay £800 a year for the warranty and think I have definitely got my moneys worth over the years. During the annual service my Porsche dealership advise me of any items that they think will need to be replaced and also if any of these items will be covered under the warranty which is useful.

I had a removeable towbar retro fitted by Porsche which cost £1100, the deployable towbar was quoted at £2500 but I think it already has to be pre-wired with the buttons in the boot otherwise they can't do a retro fit.

The Cayenne S V8 Diesel is a truly great all rounder and you won't be disappointed.

Great cars. Miy 2017 car has just hit 120k miles…just extended the warrranty to the maximum as cannot be extended once car hits 125k miles. It’ll be getting on for 200k miles but the time I am done with it. Warranty is a good investment, mine is actually going in for a diagnostic check tomorrow on an engine warning light. I am sure it will be nothing but event getting that diagnosed without warranty costs money.

Well, 250 mile drive home from Woking to St Davids, first impressions, what a great mile muncher, a lovely place to be, best part of 5 hours driving and got out feeling fresh as a daisy, and at sensible speeds managed 37mpg which was a pleasant surprise.
played around with suspension settings, comfort damper setting wasn’t really that comfortable, more sort of wallowy, on the motorway, sport and sport + seemed to work quite well.
Looking forward to trying it on some of the local roads, but I suspect this is where it’s weight will start to make an impression, couldn’t be more different to the Caterham!
