Cayenne 955 window module coding?

Anyone know if the window modules (in the doors), with the window motors attached are coded to the cars?
Replaced my rusty regulator with a broken wire, window still didnn't work. Then replaced the window module with a £20 ebay job. Still no luck. Fuses are fine.
Can hear clicking from the unit when the switch is pressed though....
