Macan - Rear Washer not working

All I could suggest is taken the lid off your washer fluid reservoir and then blow down the pipe you’ve found to try and clear it. It’d be handy to test before you put all the trim back so a second pair of hands would be ideal.
Personally I’d just live without it if that doesn’t work, but I’m sure there’s much more that could be done!

Thanks but its complicated as there are non return valves & pumps between the hose I found & the reservoirPersonally I’d just live without it if that doesn’t work, but I’m sure there’s much more that could be done!
Think you need to take to the internet on this one. Lots of reported issues on this on the various owners forums regarding a connector pipe in the rear failing on new Macans and basically emptying the screenwash contents into the cabin under the carpets. The pump exceeds the safe working pressure of the pipe connectors and basically pops them. Awful design . Interior out to fix the issue! I kid you not.

Yes thanks, I’m on that line of enquiry now. Thing is no one has yet definitively advised the route of the pipe nor where the suspect pipe connector is located. mines stopped working which has massively pissed me off as my first macan did the same 3 years ago - the hose splits when the temperature drops below zero. How they aren’t capable of changing the grade of plastic so it doesn’t is clearly too hard, there must be thousands which have done the same. Porsche ********* which is now one of the most depressing places on earth want 2 weeks to remove the whole interior to dry it out (not detected any wet anywhere but what do i know) and replace the pipe. so i can now look forward to picking up a car which will rattle like bag a bones and no doubt have a load of faults as well as i wouldn’t trust that lot as far as i can throw them. Naturally the replacement part will be the same as the one that’s failed so unless I fill the bottle with neat anti freeze it will go and split next winter as well.

Hi , looking for some advice please. My 72 plate Macan in December 2023 had the rear washer stop working. It’s taken till today to get an appointment for the car with hire car to go in so I’ve waited 3 months for them to look at it. The dealer has said it’s definitely the rear wash pipe and they’ve had to remove all the carpets to dry out and replace pipe. They have said that it’s not covered under warranty but have sent a case to Porsche to ask if they could contribute. I said I have no money to pay and also why would it not be covered under warranty for a car just over a year old and seems to be a common problem . Looking for advice and help please. Thanks
Keep on at them. Ours did the same but emptied contents of washer bottle down under nearside of car. Noticed the coloured fluid pooling underneath on the driveway after it failed to reach the rear screen. Caused by very low temperatures apparently - All fixed under warranty. 2 year old car

So Porsche have said that it’s covered under warranty in the summer but not in the winter , but they will put a case out for Porsche to pay for it. It’s just a disgrace you couldn’t make it up. So they are admitting that the pipe isn’t fit for purpose in cold weather . I’ve never heard anything so ridiculous . Swervin_Mervin said:

There's a common problem with some VAG rear washers that the nozzle gets easily clogged. It's a crap design and occurs when the nozzle is at the bottom of the screen i.e. spraying up.
So it’s at the top, but the actual pipe underneath the car has snapped and leaked blue wash screen fluid all under my back seats and saturated the carpets so they’ve had to take it apart to dry out. They have also said it’s at risk of mould and condensation due to this. Given it’s a year old it’s just a total wind up them trying to get out of admitting their clearly sub standard parts are rubbish. ks. Why can’t they admit and take responsibility for the rubbish parts they are using. So moral of the story is if you want the part covered under warranty no questions asked , leave it until warmer months and then get them to fix it. What a joke. Swervin_Mervin said:

I know I’ll be using this in my formal complaint once they sort it. Absolutely laughable it’s like saying oh you’re not under warranty for a window regulator in the summer (I had one of these replaced too broken!) as you have windows open , but in the winter your windows are fully covered as you don’t open them. This is how absurd it sounds. I think the lies surrounding this is just really winding me up, a 60k motor and they are trying to get out of warranty responsibilities . I had Audi’s for the last 15 yrs before and anything at all wrong with the car under warranty straight to the dealer no questions asked . Only silver lining I have here is they’ve given me a £100k car which is pretty nice to drive around in so they can keep mine as long as they like. 😂Swervin_Mervin said:

There are two rear washers. The rear screen washer at the top of the screen and a secondary reversing camera washer to the left of the camera lens. The pipework for the camera washer is behind the rear bumper.There's a common problem with some VAG rear washers that the nozzle gets easily clogged. It's a crap design and occurs when the nozzle is at the bottom of the screen i.e. spraying up.
The "T" piece folks often refer to distributes fluid to both washer nozzles. The camera washer pipework is more exposed and subject to windchill so add washer antifreeze to allow for temperatures down to -20C or more.
The "T" piece is actually called a pressure relief valve and "blows off" at pressures over 5 BAR, so I'm told by a gold technician at my OPC. So if the camera washer pipework freezes the valve will fail or, as Porsche put it... "do its job."
