Cayenne rear view mirror keep popping off..

I had the windshield replaced on my 2015 Cayenne by a National Glass company. All went well but when few days later I tried to adjust the rear view mirror it came off the slot. So I told glass company and they sent someone to repair, and attached it back and applied lots silicone to the mirror so it was super smooth and we checked and it was fine. However it came off again a week later. So got another repair but same results. Then last week they sent a “senior” technician who “fixed” it again telling me that pins were not aligned etc. but sadly it didn’t work and mirror came off few days later. What shall I do? call the glass company again as they do give life time warranty or just cut my losses and take it to an OPC to fix it. Any advice please. Thanks

Same happened to me.

Not sure if it is the same mirror mount as the 997 but there are metal tags that hold the mirror in place on the slide. You can bend them but be very careful as screen prone to crack if you push too hard on the mirror mount (don't ask....).

One common fix is to place the mirror in the proper position and shim it with something - a toothpick is ideal. Silicone won't hold. Then replace the shroud and all should be fine. Not ideal but a cheap and effective fix.
