Hello,

I am currently looking at a 2015 Cayenne S - E Hybrid. The car is for sale at an OPC and comes with a Porsche Approved Warranty. It has low kms, only 70k. The only concern is the battery warranty has expired, I wanted to know if there are any ways to get a health diagnostic of the battery. Should I steer clear if the battery is out of warranty?

Thanks

Jimido

Battery health usually measured in terms of range or charge held at 100%. Best battery management these days revolves around not stressing a battery by allowing to drop to zero or being at 100% for a prolonged period of time.

So, I'd check what range or power was held at new to what it does now. Allow approx 10% degradation as standard (all batteries deteriorate over time, mostly in the 1st year).

BTW I'm coming from Tesla world on batteries, so wold imagine the same principles would apply.

Good luck

Be aware that with those cars the battery life is poor to begin with. I had one for a short period, on a cold day I was lucky if I got 15 miles on a full charge.
