Hi all I’ve bought a 944 Ventiler , same engine and set up as an S I think but the snorkel air intake part is missing from the air box so it is just taking hot air from the engine ....does anyone happen to have a spare snorkel I can buy please or any ideas ?? eBay has nothing , thanks Ian

It is an S, there is no such thing as a 'ventiler'. On an S, the inlet is part of the air box base. They're available new but the price is comical, so I'd look for a used part.

New from Porsche: £265 +VAT.

,not sure of the actual part you describe , a few years ago a mate went through a flood with his 944... the engine air inlet ( down by the front wheel) sucked up water and hydraulic locked the engine..lucky for him the insurance company called it an insurance claim and wrote the car off.....bit of a bad design and if this the bit you want to fit take care. At the time a recognised bodge was to drill a couple of large holes in the plastic inlet piipe on top of engine to prevent sucking up water in floods......suppose that might defeat what your trying to achieve though..

OP, the 'Ventiler' refers to the fact that the engine is a 16 valve unit.

944 S (MY 1987-88)
The 944 S was identical to the 944 in body design and equipment. However, this model was equipped with a four-valve engine for the first time, which developed up to 190 hp. A badge embossed with "16 Ventiler" was therefore available as an option behind the flasher repeaters.
