Am coming up for 7k miles. Still plenty of tread but would prefer to be thinking about this before we get into the colder / damper months.

Car has the presumably original Continental SportContacts.

Can anyone recommend the best tyres for the job?

Not too worried about longevity. More focused on quietness, predictability and safety in wet conditions.

Thanks everyone.

I changed my tyres on my Turbo this week. Gone from Michelin Tour HP, they lasted 30,911 miles. They were v good, quiet, direct and with a soft ride. Not great in slushy snowy conditions so I have changed to Pirelli Scorpion All Season, up to 200 miles so far so no idea on ride etc. I am hoping they will be good as I didn't really want the full winter option as I don't plan on changing wheels season to season.

Hope this helps a bit!

30k miles on a set on a Macan, that’s impressive

Well, you know...
There’s drivers, and then there’s DRIVERS!

So it’s the wife’s car!
19” wheels
Air suspension

I’m impressed too., I changed the brake pads all round too, the fronts were 75% worn the rears under 50%.

I was thinking of selling the Macan, but we will keep her for another year or two.

I got over 30k miles on tour HP’s too on a gts. I felt they were a very compromised tyre for the character of the car but they did wear very well though.

Why did you change the pads?

My Turbo PP has Pirelli’s on it...would think it has the same as the Turbo ?!

We run winter tyres on a spare set of wheels....once or twice a year there is chases locally when there is a dusting of snow as we live in a hilly area. Being able to use the back lanes makes a big difference !

Pirelli’s good otherwise though? I’m more urban. Looking for grip, predictability and quiet.

BTW did you have a 997 GTS? That’s what I’ve switched from.

Michelin Latitudes on mine which are really good as an all-season tyre. A little soft if pushing hard but a good ride and much better in the wet than the Pirelli P Zeros it came with.

Yes....I’d say that describes the Pirelli’s pretty well ! Yes i do have a 997 GTS....just had a suspension refresh and a fast road geo at RPM....picking it up next week smile/

I’m on Pirelli Scorpian All Verde all season tyres (N rated) on my Macan S. I’ve had them on for the last two years and 13k miles and they’ve been superb. Good grip in all weathers (inc snow). Not quite as much outright grip as the Michelin Latitude 3 which were on beforehand, but still very grippy and I’m pleased with not having to mess around between winters and summers.

The car was in for the OPC warranty renewal last week and all four tyres were recorded as having 5.8mm remaining, from the 8mm they started at. They’ve worn very evenly and I’m amazed there’s likely another 12k+ left in them.

The car gets driven pretty hard too.

Thanks everyone for some really useful pointers.

Just back from a 400m round trip taking daughter to university. Mixture of motorway, A and B roads, and farm track. The car was great in all instances. Quiet and comfortable when needed, and then like a big hot hatch when on B roads. Very very pleased with it.
