Looking to buy one soon but have a few questions for existing owners out there.

What's true distance on battery?
Is 7.5kw charger a must have?
Do you need a home charging station or an I use off home 240v power?

Thanks

I’ve had 2 Cayenne’s and a Panny ST.
They do between 15 and believe it or not 40 miles. Depends a bit on ambient, how heavy your foot is, but you soon learn to conserve energy.
It’s not just about driving on battery, it’s how much time the system shuts the engine off. You can get great benefit from the energy recovery going downhill etc.
Driving on electric alone is great, very quiet and torquey.
I’ve always had big chargers, useful if you want to do a few local runs out in the day on electric as they recharge in a couple of hours.
Don’t mess about with the electricity, a standard domestic socket is for rare occasions, it’s so slow it’s hardly worth the hassle. I got the 3-phase 16amp.

Hi Gareth

Having owned a Panamera ST 4 Hybrid and now a ST Turbo S Hybrid I would really like to see the previous poster doing 40 miles on a single battery charge...;-). Typically you will do between 20 to 30 miles in city driving which is plenty enough for those short runs.

The great thing about the car is how fast it recharges the battery when driving in Sport Plus mode. You can easily get a full charge in under an hour while having fun at the same time.

In the first months of ownership I always carried the charging cable and used the facilities where available but now I don't even bother anymore. I just keep it connected to my home outlet at 240V with the included base charging station and it charges in 6 hours overnight. Even though I have the optional 7.2kw internal charger it's not a must as charging times at 240V are exactly the same with the 3.6kw charger.

I must add that I never drive the car in Hybrid mode as I hate the constant shutting off/turning on of the engine. I either have it in e-mode or Sport Plus. This might not be the typical use case but it makes sense to me. Get one as they are great cars!

I get about 23 miles on full electric (sport turismo on 21’s) and have the Porsche supplied charger so just normal 3 prong plug charger. Which is enough, just leave it on charge overnight .
