I am looking forward to getting my first Porsche which should be next month subject to everything reopening. I have put deposit with a Porsche dealer subject to seeing it on a car with 25,000 miles.
Would anyone know if the 2016 were all platinum edition this car was registered September 2016 and has number of extras, the dealer originally said yes to platinum then no it was an error still waiting for confirmation.
Does the Bose surround system have a slot for cd's and are all models fitted with a 100litre tank or is it an extra.
Finding it difficult to wait for the reopening and getting to drive the car.

I can only answer re the S model 4.2V8 diesel. I have a May 2016 bought new. It has the 100 litre tank but that came with the towing package.

Beware of transfer box issues. Mine needed replacement under warranty after two years - admittedly towing an 1800kg caravan. I fortunately bought the Porsche extended warranty at 3 years, as the transfer box is playing up again. Car was booked in for inspection / repair when lockdown happened so is still waiting.

I have heard that Porsche had a problem batch of transfer boxes that also affected the Macan, and that they are in legal action with the manufacturer. Don't know how true that is, but I do know that there has been other comments on here regarding the transfer box. Check it out before buying.

Sat on my drive sorned at the moment, and Boxster sat in garage sorned.

And forgot to say, it is an expensive repair if no warranty. 2 day job with engine out.

Thanks for your reply, the one I am getting comes with the Porsche 2 year warranty and I think I will have to renew that after two years or ny nerves would be shot.

Mines a 66 plate, v8 diesel s

It isn’t a platinum edition version

Does have the 100 litre tank

My bose does have a cd slot. But I’ve also got CarPlay so never use the cd

I’ve also had a transfer box fail. Luckily covered by warranty

Car also eats tyres and brakes

Like it quite a lot though, despite that

3.0d Platinum was released something like August /September 2106. I remember this as it was released just before I ordered my V8 S Diesel...OPC thought I was mad but I really wanted the V8. The V8 S Diesel Platinum was released around Feb 2017 as that was just before picked up our car....that made me a bit mad as we’d ticked pretty much every box that was included on the Platinum cars smile

HTH.

They’re great cars OP.

I thought most of the box problems was with the v8,tourque eating gearbox/transfer box.
Mine is a late 16 3.0 plat, great vehicle for towing and cruises like a roller.

Thanks for info on the transfer box I will check if it has been replaced but looks like I will definitely renew warranty in two years.

Will probably find out if the three litre is platinum edition or not the reason I am asking is insurance company charges extra for platinum not much and not enough to bother about I just have to let them know.

BOSE will have the CD slot. Platinum had 100/litre tank as standard (SE-Hybrid had 80). I don't think transfer box problems affected the 3.0? I have had the 3.0 and now the 4.2.

3.0d = good. 4.2d = brilliant.

Got a 2016 v8s and it too has had a new transfer box at 60k. Brilliant car.
Has 100ltr tank, Bose (no idea if it has a cd drive) and no platinum edition.

Really impresssive cars. Had mine from new - change my cars like my undies normally but not motivated to change this at all. Ok, better tech on newer ones but otherwise can’t see better option.

You’ll love it. Warranty is good and worth extending in a couple of years.

Sport design kit about £3k extra at the time but really sets the car off without looking ott.
Looks a strong list. Like the air suspension and pano roof. Should be a lovely car.

Check whether it’s got the roof rails...may have been omitted from the spec but they aren’t standard. Cars without them don’t sell very well apparently and they can’t be retrofitted, I certainly wouldn’t buy a Cayenne without them as I use the one’s on mine !

2mpte thanks I am looking forward to driving it.
Chelb the sports skirts are painted but I have a very small photo of the car as the dealer has taken it down from the site but am pretty sure there are no roof rails, it doesn't bother me as I have never used them on previous cars. Do you think it makes a big difference on resale.

Doubt it makes a big difference but there will obviously be a fair few people that won’t buy one without them. So if you’re selling privately maybe a bit harder to sell...I doubt a trade bid would be much different though.

Further to my earlier post, car now been to Porsche Swindon. It did need another new transfer box. That's 2 new ones in a 4 year old car that's only done 35K miles.

Beware!!!

Mine is going in for what I think is the Transfer Box in a couple of weeks.
