What's it worth?!
Discussion
I don't know what it's worth, £3800 sounds comical.
Assuming it isn't rotten body wise (aside the crash damage).
It will need a hell of a lot spent on it after living in a field for what looks like a long time. Depends if it runs really, even then whatever scrap value is these days for a turbo. Why leave it in a field? Might as well leave it in a pond.
Looking at the engine bay that's been very damp for a very long time, looks like a restoration project to me.

Some good points, all useful in working out whether to go for it. Much depends on getting the seller to be realistic about condition and problems. So many see a quick buck and don't realise to 'do up a project' properly is a major and expensive undertaking for most.
It's a bit like folk who advertise an MOT failure that they say will cost pennies to fix before it flies through...
I'll ring the seller tonight and hit him with the mice and wiring loom argument, amongst many others :-)

If you can, I would consider taking a large slab and a jack, getting it in the air a bit, putting something large and solid underneath (so it doesn't fall and squash you), then having a proper poke at the underside with a screwdriver and a powerful torch.
Unless if course it can be driven a short distance to somewhere more sensible?

Not sure what you know about these. Crank nut is 24mm, might need a short extension on the socket due to the pas pulley. Without jacking it up it'll be tricky to get on the end of the crank, even then you will probably have to remove the undertray if fitted, mine hasn't got one so not sure.
The Sills can look fine from the outside but be rotten, listen for crunching if you push them from outside and pull the b Piller vent out to look inside/poke a camera in.
I'd want to know the age/condition of the timing belt before trying to start it. Unless it's before you do a deal, 5 years is the interval IIRC.

Agreed with the above. It's worth what it will break for, which to be fair could potentially be 2-3k very easily.
So, is the car special. Does it have amazing service history, low owners, all the original extra parts (load cover, tools, spare wheel, compressor etc). Does it have original engine and gearbox. In other words what's it realistically going to be worth. And why would you, when you could just buy a half decent one. Only you can answer the last bit.
You do see these going for big money. But don't for one minute think a ex write off 160k mile vehicle will be easy to shift for anything other than a very attractive price.
