The Cayenne Coupe looks like it’s getting a GT variant. And claims below that it might be over 800bhp with the Urus engine and an electric motor.

Please tell me Porsche are not going to call a Cayenne a GT car. Can’t believe they’d do that ! Also wonder why they’d even think of doing this...the old Cayenne Turbo S was a sales disaster.

Maybe they’ll follow Aston’s business model with the Zagato sanction models.....GT cars only sold in pairs with a Cayenne GT5 !

Please, don’t let this be real.

We don’t the dilution here like Audi’s RS brand or Merc AMG or BMW M

your GT4 has already been diluted the arms and parts are not made like the parts from 10 years ago.
parts are much cheaper now made in China.

the platforms from Audi to Porsche are already the same in some models.

I would not worry about the sub brands like GT5 and turbo s like for the new electric Taycan. Key is Porsche brand. Everyone said it would be diluted when they start selling SUVs, saloons etc. I don't think the Porsche brand has been diluted if anything its even stronger. GT brand is a cash machine and triumph of marketing. Nothing less nothing more. Chucking out cars with 10 year manufacturers engine warranty on defective 991.1 GT3 and still those cars at list!!!

Porsche GT is linked to actual racing.... and ALL the cars that bear the GT designation actually are in race series.

Same is no longer true for Audi RS, Merc AMG and BMW M.
This is what i mean by dilution.

Ultimately GT becomes a trim level... obviously great for Porsche to cash in on ... but does that mean the real GT cars come less GT. You can see the this has happen with the aforementioned 3 brands - and then they have to come up with other names like Black Series and Competition/CS or RS PLUS

It really wouldn't surprise if GT5 entered in Paris Dakar a' la 959 or a one make race series like Jaguar does in their SUV looking thing.
