Hi
My wife has misplaced the keys to the Porsche. Now there's a pretty good chance they will show up where she has been today, but we can't check until the morning. What is the worst case with this though, the car is locked up at a secure location so I'm not concerned for it. But eventually, well. Eventually I will want my car back. So what happens then, with no keys. No spare unfortunately, it was for reasons I'm not quite sure of on the same fob.
Can Porsche run me a key if I show them the logbook?
Any help appreciated.

Sounds like you'd need a locksmith and a new set of locks/ignition barrel/keys?

I have read online on some Porsche forums that Porsche can get me a key if I show them the vin, the logbook and some proof of ID.
Hopefully that is true. I shall have another look for the keys tomorrow and give them a call if no luck.

Indeed you can order a key to VIN number providing the necessary ID / ownership criteria. Your local OPC can sort it. Hopefully the car still has the original lock set - if not the key to VIN will be different.

Yup done it when I had my 944. Took 3-4 days.

A similar thing happened a few years ago, we lost the 1 and only key to my Diablo. I was recommended a locksmith who was able to cut a key to the lock as it meant we didn’t have to wait (2 weeks) for a new one to arrive from Italy. Porsche may be able to get a new key to you a bit quicker.

Thanks for your help. The keys turned up after all. But I will definitely get another spare cut asap.
Thanks

Take a scan or photo of your key as a backup.

I had a spare one made from a scan of mine and was amazed to find it works!
