Is it possible to have the folding mirrors do their thing from the key fob rather than the ignition?

My Dad drives a new model Macan and the wing mirrors are driving him mad. They only open when he puts the key in the ignition and close the second he removes the key. Makes the puddle lights under the mirrors totally useless. He can’t find anything in the handbook and even rang his OPC who said nothing can be done. I said I’d have a look for him this weekend and wondered if any of you helpful souls could point me in the right direction.

They are controlled in the ‘Car’ settings on the pcm in the locking section I think. Folding can be switched off.

I have the same model and control the wing mirrors via key fob. So it definitely can be set up. Mine were like this on delivery so not sure of the process to change them I’m afraid. Will be covered in the manual though

Looks like it will be heading to the OPC.

Found the correct setting but they still don’t open correctly. They now close when the car is locked with the fob, but still won’t open when the car is unlocked (as the manual and settings screen in the PCM says they do). They will only open when you turn on the ignition.

That,s what my do so I don’t think you have a problem. When you think about it, what would be the point of them un folding if you were only opening the car to put something in the boot . It makes sense to only work when car is being started

I agree.
Try pressing and holding the unlock button on the fob. This should unfold the mirrors

Remote unfolding of wing mirrors doesn't work on my 2020 Macan which I have just bought. According to the handbook they should unfold on unlocking. On my last car if the wing mirrors were not folded in then I knew that it was unlocked!!

On my 2023 Macan the wing mirrors fold out when you turn ignition on not when you unlock car.

On my 2019 Macan they folded out when you unlocked the car ( I think!!) but they only folded in when you held the locking button down for a while - not when you simply pressed quickly to lock the car.

I think that they may be programmable within either the PCM or the Multi Function screen.
