Cayenne S E-Hybrid to S Diesel?
Discussion
Hello gents,
I’m considering switching my 2015 Cayenne S E-Hybrid to the S Diesel (4.2). Just wondering if this would be a silly move considering the ‘war’ against Diesels in the EU. I find the e hybrid a little underpowered and consumption between the two seem to be pretty even. The hybrid was bought new and i’ve done about 120,000 KM without issues so reliability has been really good for this new technology. Any known reliabilty issues with the S Diesel?
Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

I’ve had an S Diesel for two years....done 35k miles which apart from an exhaust coming a bit loose (which OPC sorted under warranty) it’s been trouble free. It’s a fantastic car and the lack of diesel in the current line up is costing Porsche a sale as the economy/range are both big pluses for us. I did test drive a Hybrid before buying the S Diesel...there’s quite a difference in the drive not just because of the engine, brakes feel different and obviously there’s not the 300kg battery your hauling around (although I am sure the engine is probably a good built heavier in the diesel).
