Panamera Depreciation
Discussion
I’d imagine the early Diesel l 4S is a decent buy of the current shape ? OPC lent me one for a day. I thought it was a fantastic car, if there was a Sport Tursimo version I think I’d have one on my drive.
I was looking at Turbo Sport Tursimo’s the other day....they do lose cash that’s for sure. I think I might buy one in a couple of years when they’re in the £70k to £80k bracket.

Even when they are at £70k (3 years old) they still will lose bucket loads between the 3-6 year of age. I suspect around £30k over this period... £10k p.a.!
On a car that cost £100k new I don’t think £10k per annum depreciation is too bad...in fact I’d take it and very happily run a Panamera if I knew it was going to cost £10k per annum! I was thinking about buying a new Turbo or Turbo S as a replacement for my Range Rover as I want a change but if they depreciate more than £10k a year then I might have to scratch that idea.
What kind of discount could I expect off a new one? Is it only few grand like an SVA Dynamic Range Rover or are we talking significant amounts like you can get off a BMW M car for example?

I'd say you've no chance of getting into a Turbo & achieving depreciation of 10k or less. Generally Porsche discounts are nominal to zero. What kind of discount could I expect off a new one? Agree on the former but not so sure on the latter...people on the Macan thread are getting discounts on circa 10% at the moment...I saw one OPC on their Instagram feed was throwing in £7.5k worth of Techequipment with a Macan too (not worth much in reality but still an indication of willingness to do deals)...that’s on a model that is less than six months old. I was in OPC Hatfield yesterday....amongst their new cars they had three Panamera’s on display which is unusual especially as two were Turbo’s in identical spec. Guessing their new showroom car had come through and they hadn’t found a home yet for the previous one.

What colours were they? Interesting that you say the interior is better than a Range Rover. Are you comparing it to an Autobiography trim level? If that's the case then that's one of my biggest reservations dealt with when considering to go for a Panamera.
I had better go and have a look at one rather than playing on the configurator. Problem is I just know that if I look at one and drive one I am going to want one. Its been a while since I have owned a Porsche and I keep thinking I would like to return to the brand.

I've had a couple of Pana's
early 4S & later a Turbo S
dont remember the exact figures, but I dont recall them being too horrendous in depreciation, but I did buy them used from OPC. both were a couple of years old.
Great cars - 4S was nice, but the turbo was in a different league, especially as the previous owner had speced it to the hilt (and took the depreciation hit!)

Of course, one could always buy an older Panamera and enjoy the depreciation that someone else suffered.
Mine's nearly 10 years old now and remains faultless.
Other than in name the two cars are simply not comparable in any way. Mine's nearly 10 years old now and remains faultless.
Personally I think you need to be mad to buy and run something like this without an OPC warranty unless you have oily fingers and a masters in electronics.

However, what you don't read much of on here are concerns about Panamera reliability. https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...
….. running 3 Porsches, a Lotus & a Range Rover without any warranties.... I should be broke by now using most PH logic!!
