968 Club Sport or Sport. - You decide!
Discussion
Bought my CS with 3k miles in 1995 for £30k as my first Porsche - still around somewhere on nearly 100k miles now. It certainly didn’t have rear seats or electric windows though did have a sunroof. Lovely car, totally practical when used every day if a bit fragile - one particularly embarrassing incident when the fuel pump failed at the tyre fitters. If the current owner of M275SWT is on here PM me I’ve still got the service history from my time.

Mmm this old chestnut...
However you want to hash it the bottom line is a Sport is a CS.
Porsche GB even ticked the CS badge delete on the options list- every Sports build sticker states this.
Correct. Porsche UK ordered 306 x 968CS with some options and stuck a SPORT badge on the back. However you want to hash it the bottom line is a Sport is a CS.

I miss mine. Should never have sold it
You and me both! Had a lovely 1994 CS in amathyst (and genuine, not s Sport masquerading as a CS!) from 1998 to 2006. Overlapped with a 996 Targa. Sold the CS to a mate for about £13k with about 60k on the clock as I just wasn't using it and didn't have the space to store it.. Often wondered what happened to it - M139MNC iirc. Biggest car mistake of my life - well, apart from buying my 997GTS back in 2012 instead of a 997GT3 Mk2, which would have been about £15k more expensive, but now about £45k more........... Hey ho, hindsight is a wonderful thing! The CS had a rear parcel shelf in place of rear seats ... useful for fitting four spare wheels and a jack in the back of the car ... no joking, I've seen it !
I guess the window winders were manual. Hard backed bucket seats generally painted to body colour ... plus ? Cup 1 wheels on early ones and Cup 2's on later ones ?
I've also seen four tyres on the roof rack of a 911 at Spa !
The LSD was an option (220 ?) ... there was a brake upgrade ... most of the UK CS had a sun-roof (go figure) ... the RHD CS had the battery in the boot where the LHD CS had the battery in the engine compartment and a lot of LHD cars did not have sunroofs ....
Even with a new battery that huge four pot turned over like a tractor ... and the 968 engine was incredibly reliable apart from oil pick-ups vibrating themselves loose !

I took mine to PEC many years ago for a drive your own car track experience, where I think it was much more at home than on B roads with the M030 suspension, really nice and involving to drive around there.
It didn't go unnoticed by Gordon Robertson the chief driving consultant, who asked if he could drive it for a few laps in exchange for a few GT3 laps for me, which I agreed to.
Great to drive a special Porsche again I think he said !!
Must say my dream car before getting the CS was a Sport in Iris Blue, but when looking over the CS in SY I had a change of heart.
A distinct lack of pictures on this thread, sunroof is actually very useful with no AC :
And Iris Blue Sport

Another previous CS owner who thinks that a Sport is not a CS even although the evidence is there for all to see-;)A bit of info to add to the CS/Sport stories - I was a Porsche customer in the days when we were a fairly small group of people and I’d had a few 944s of various types. Porsche held a day for probable clients to try the 968 which was struggling for sales, and was very impressed by the CS
However, as I was doing a large annual mileage there was no way I could live with the CS specification so I asked Porsche if they would build me a CS with sunroof, standard seats, electric windows and a couple of other bits and pieces. They said yes so I ordered the car.
Whilst the car was being built Porsche contacted me to say that they’d decided to build a run of similar cars which they were going to call the Sport
Mine was in the logbook as a CS and came with CS badges but I had the badges swapped for Sport ones ( I know....)
A couple of years later, I found it almost impossible to sell the car because no one wanted white!

I used to take mine to see customers. It had the buckets and after an hour I would have to stop to get the circulation back in my legs (I am a Powerfully built Director Type = see fat). Great cars for covering long distances in though. I sold my CS for less than £9k in 2006/7. It had new cams, head gasket rebuild, at the time I needed the money. Big mistake
