No its not a comment on its beautiful front end design wink Mine just feels like it has a tight diff or different turning arcs for the front wheels when using a lot of lock - particularly when going right out of a junction first thing in the morning. The front tyres seem to skip or hop to get back in sync with each other. Do they all do this? It can make for jerky and mechanically unsympathetic quick exits from junctions. Cheers

So does it need this or is it out of alignment? Or TADTS!?

I’ve noticed it more on modern Porsche’s than any other make. I think it’s related to the tyres or rather the specification of Porsche N rated tyres....I only notice this in winter and it disappears when cars are fitted with winter tyres. I suspect the summer tyres Porsche specifies don’t like the cold weather.

Hmm - i have PS4S on front and Latitudes on the rear. Soon to be all on PS4S as I so rate them and all I could find out about N0 Latitudes was marketing BS - not any facts. I love ze PS4S and vill not comply!

Have genned up on Ackerman so seems to be a feature. I really don't like it though - its quite abrupt and clearly not tyre friendly. In fact it tends to ruin what is an otherwise really well mannered car with great steering feel. None of my other cars that all had great steering feel (well not the F11 - got rid of that for its terrible EPAS) have suffered this - not even the similarly the AWD WRX, FFRR or RS4 Quattro.

I have a feeling it will get better when it warms up so until then its clunk and bump on ninety rights!

It's pretty bad on all recent 4wd mercs. My E43 AMG does it, particularly bad now in the cold weather....but then my 991 TTS does it as well

There obviously seems to be some advantage in all these manufacturers NOT following the principles of Ackerman - would be good to know what they were smile

Honestly I don’t think it’s Ackerman I think it’s tyres in the cold weather. My Macan was doing it a two weeks ago until Imput winter tyres on....no sign of it now. I over my GT3 in the garage the other day..front tyres were doing what you described, they don’t do it when it’s warmer.

Not a Macan but this used to be really annoying on my Panamera which would demonstrate the Ackerman effect / skip turning out of our street. It seems that tyres or depth of tread can make quite a difference - I switched from Continental Sport Contacts to Michelin PS4S (non 'N' rated rolleyes) and now problem solved. Can't say I've noticed it at all the last few days during this recent cold weather either, such good tyres.

I too am a kleine Scheiße as have put PS4S on the fronts - was wondering if the lack of N0 approval was actually manifesting as a real issue? So maybe not smile

Still no wiser why its an essential 'feature' - if I understood any dynamic payback I might forgive the programmed uncouth Tesco 'wonky trolley' behaviour. No one anywhere has stated any reason why this is essential in Porsches yet perfectly dialled out in Astons, Macs, Scoobys and BMW etc...

It's better now its warmer mind, but it does ruin this otherwise very much liked car frownrolleyes And as said previously this one is set up to beyond manufacturers alignment tolerances - its bang on spec and matched on both axles courtesy of 5 hours at Centre Gravity!

Still, as long as they made £30k on it...
