Advice - 2011 Porsche Cayenne 3.0
Discussion
Hi everyone
I seem to have passed on the Porsche bug to my father who is now looking to get his first one. His actual needs are something that has lots of space, good for long motorway tips (+driving in France), about 10-15k miles per year, reasonably efficient, reliable, and able to tow over 1800kg. Hence the Cayenne.
I've got a 2008 Cayman so know about some in's and outs of Porsche ownership, however have no experience with Cayenne's and was hoping the good community of PH could help out.
He's, asked me to come look (his 2nd look) at one this weekend, and want to be a little prepared.
It's a 2011, automatic 3.0 TDi, 32k miles, 2 owners, full Porsche history (with last service in Feb 2017), loads of options including, 20-inch RS Spyder wheels, Sat Nav, Panoramic roof, Active suspension management, reversing camera, BOSE. Current sale is £25500.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks

We sold ours about 14 months ago (2011 - 25k miles , needed a service and a few others bits and got £28,500 for it) - it had £13k of extras - so the price sounds about right.
It was a great car.
Worth checking the tyres - can suffer damage and expensive to replace.
The Sat nav might only take 4 digits of the post code which is a pain - can be upgraded for around £350.
Your cars sounds like it has all the important bits
Bluetooth, 18 way power seats are desirable (ours only had 8 way and were fine), xenon lights and power tail gate...paddles behind the steering wheel rather than the buttons are nice.

Great cars, even higher mileage ones drive superb.the extended leather option makes the interior a bit more of a luxury feel over the crappy plastic dash.
Got mine for sale at the moment,as much as I love the car I fancy going topless for the summer, the market for selling seems to be dead though so I am sure you should be able to negotiate a better than the asking price.
As previous poster said it has the right options, the 18 way seats are the most comfortable I have ever sat in.

Thanks for the responses.
After doing a bit of checking, they seem to be pretty sturdy cars. Have been told to also check for oil leaks near the gearbox as this could potentially be a expensive fix, and ensure all electrics work.
It will be the first Porsche for my dad, so looking forward to seeing his face when I tell him how much breaks are to replace

My 1-owner OPC serviced and maintained 2011 Cayenne 3.0d had the oil leak issue at approx 50k miles. I *think* it was something to do with the seal (glue) that goes in the engine block. Luckily under warranty but had to have full engine and gearbox out and resealed. Job would of been approx £5k. Seems to affect a few Cayennes at that age.
Also had a few issues with electrics and power tailgate struts.
