Cayenne Vs Panamera - any experience?
Discussion
Considering changing my MK1 Cayenne next year as I'll have had it for 3 years, so the change-itch has started.
Current thinking is maybe a newer cayenne (2011 model) or a Panamera instead. Has anyone had both and can share experience?
The absolute key factor for me is comfort. I'm 6'4" and have hellish back problems. I find my Cayenne to be very comfortable, being more chair like (legs bent) than car (legs forward) with lots of adjustments. The high roof means I'm not scraping the ceiling either.
Could anyone share experience of both?
Thanks!
Paul

I have one. of each on the fleet, and would say they are entirely different. Both will accommodate your height easily and both are immensely comfortable. They Cayenne is a much more practical vehicle of you carry a lot of stuff in the car periodically, and many really like the higher driving position. Seats in the Cayenne are broader and do not have the sporting feeling of there Panamera seats.
Panamera is a much better handler and is evidently a car. It shows.
Im the end depends on your needs and driving style. I use the Cayenne for towing and dog transport but would happily take either fo them for long distance driving.

Although I haven’t had a Cayenne, I have driven a few Macans and have a Panamera GTS. The seating position but also the seats are totally different. My Panamera has what I believe are the same seats as a 911. They’re the 18 way ones. The Macan and Cayenne have very different seats and are “bigger” ?
911/Panamera seats are firm but the most comfortable I’ve ever sat in, totally supportive once correctly adjusted, and having “legs out” works v well for comfort. I don’t have a sunroof and as such there is loads of head room.
The Cayenne has what I believe to be the “4x4” Seats. They’re bigger and plumper but a very different seating experience. I would imagine that the 911 style seats in the Panamera are possible the more expensive seat to produce but that is purely a guess.
Re towing and dogs......I have the towbar option and it’s a hatch back when all said and done so does all family duties no problem. Fantastic cars

I've had 2 Cayennes, and 2 Pana's
1st cayenne had std seats (for the turbo) - good, but not massively supportive
2nd cayenne had the multiway all adjusting seats - total comfort - really couldn't fault them
1st Panamera had std seats - not my favourite, not mucho in the way of lateral support
2nd Panamera had sports seat, all adjusting - much, much better. More sporty than the 2nd Cayenne seats (tighter), but very comfortable.
Hard to say really what would suit you - I'd try and get in a few cars with different combinations
(i'm 6ft2 btw)

I’m 6’1 and driven both for two days each. The panamera is very comfortable and tall enough to allow me to wear a helmet . With the 14 way adjust you will find your ideal seating position, however it’s low compared to a cayenne so your back may play up getting in and out.Current thinking is maybe a newer cayenne (2011 model) or a Panamera instead. As you would expect the panamera is more of a drivers car - my biggest problem was parking either a FF 4x4 or the very long pammy. Turning round on a narrow country lane wasn’t much fun either - they are both wide beasts.

Had cayenne gts currently a panamera gts,the panamera feels huge when you are doing slow manoeuvres
Awesome thing once on the move, all the buttons and crap on the centre console I find distracting, too much going on
Way better on fuel than the cayenne and they go like stink!!
The new one also has a complex menu but as usual I tend to set it all up one time and put in in memory.Awesome thing once on the move, all the buttons and crap on the centre console I find distracting, too much going on
