Cayenne 2004 foot/handbrake warning light

When I release the foot brake with the hand release lever the light sometimes stays on even though the brake has released. If I pull a few times the light goes out.
Then when driving the light and audio alarm will sound and I have to release the hand lever again.
This can happen several times when driving and is disconcerting.

I think it may be a faulty micro switch on the hand lever unless anyone has a better suggestion?

Does anyone know where I can find the switch to fix or replace it?

Hi this is very common on older Cayennes,replace hydraulic strut as this normally collapses.

Where exactly is the faulty hydraulic strut attached?
Is it part of the brake unit, the foot operation lever or the hand release mechanism?

Thanks for your advice the gas strut arrived today and was fitted in 15 mins.
Easy problem resolved thanks again.
