What is the deal with borescore on older cayennes, if an engine is good now is it likely to develop problems in the future or are the surviving ones likely to soldier on?
What is the diy prospects for repair of a pre fked one if it was cheap enough? I have rebuilt a couple of bmw 3.5s and 4.4s so know my way around the insides of german v8s would it be feasible to pop the engine out, strip it back to a bare block and have the liners reamed out and resleeved by an engineering firm like you used to do with nikasil engined motorbikes? Am i missing something that makes this any more difficult than arsing around with bavarian scrap?

I have access to ramps and full workshop tools etc, it was more the ins and outs of resleeving the block. Mrs knocked it on the head anyway she cant get over the looks of the thing

This one was sleeved, against advice from somewhere I can't remember.

They had to pull it again, tip: Small seals and washers accessible when out - change them haha.
