944 windscreen replacement
Discussion
hello,
Come on you 924/944/968 boys (and girls) I know you are out there
Big crack in windscreen and getting replaced.
I read that its best to take the pillar covers off in case they get cut and I have done that.
Any comments on whether I should get a new seal to be fitted at the same time? The one on their seems ok but it is 30 years old.
I have the built in antenna and tinted top, Autoglass had to get my chassis number as Porsche said that they had trouble identifying my screen, should I expect trouble? Sounds a bit suspect to me.
cheers
Bruce

they only fit what it comes out with originally. Apparently?
Not quite. The Autoglass website said:
we only use glass manufactured to OEM standards, whether sourced from original equipment manufacturers or other suppliers to ensure that the glass we fit is as good as the original windscreen
