It has been quiet of late...
I'll kick off then: reference sensors, great when working but often the route of non-starting and cutting out issues for some. Expensive to replace when broken. I shouldn't need to worry about that one in the future! I'm going to be running the car on MS3 with a new loom.

Comparable on cost I'd say, but for my money I will have a brand new loom and (widely available and cheap to replace!) senders, so the long term pay off should be significant. Either which way you look at it, it's not a cheap gig, but well worth it for the reliability benefits and ease of future upgrades. I thought long and hard about VEMS, but the 30 year old cooked loom is the weak link in the chain for me. Plus Bailey Performance (well regarded on here) are just up the road from me and specialise in MS installs, so it makes good sense.The alternator is from a Suzuki Swift and is tiny! Wouldn't be much use of a road car though as it's only 60A...

I´ve just got back from Le Mans in my 968 from Andalucia a 1500Km trip each way I even ended up sleeping in it as it was warmer and quieter than a tent. Also I saw Magnus Walker and he asked if I drove a Porsche and when I replied a 968 he responded with "The best handling Porsche ever made."
I chose a 968 over a Boxster/Caymen, 996 because even with my mechanical ablities I can maintain my own car as I live 250kms in each direction from a OPC.
Fantastic cars I really like mine.

It's a fella called Dale Bladen, local chap to me (Shropshire). He's building the loom for me This is very far from a plug n play build! You may have spotted the new blower in the first photo... It's only a (genuine) T3/T04e, but it's taking some fitting, the turbine housing in particular!! Be worth it though. Really, really need to start that build thread!!Little Droogie said:

Sounds like fun!! They're great road trip cars. I took mine to Germany and round Belgium before I permanently 'ruined it' I chose a 968 over a Boxster/Caymen, 996 because even with my mechanical ablities I can maintain my own car as I live 250kms in each direction from a OPC.

I'm shopping at the moment, looking for wishbones which are getting scarce!
Has anyone any experience with WPO in Germany. They sell on eBay and offer free postage. I actually bought the little
Cog for my mileometre from them and it came very quickly and worked a treat. But just thought I'd see if anyone has experience of their refurbed parts.
I need a left wishbone and a right
Wishbone front bush, which I believe Porsche don't sell? But WPO do have them.
Apart from that 2 front wheel bearings going on tomorrow and it's another job off the list. Looking forward to driving it a bit more.

I spoke to Hartech yesterday. They're not able to offer a refurbed wishbone at the moment. They get them refurbished in batches and are very low on wishbones. They actually supply most of the other places offering the same so these are in short supply right now.
I'm going to give WPO a try and will let you know how I get on.

Try 9apart; they, Hartech and Porscheshop all use the same supplier for their refurbs. I've previously bought mine through 9apart and they've been great.
Alternatively there's always the Rennbay kit. I have one sat here for my current set of 'bones, so we'll see how it works out... But the yanks rate them! (It only covers the ball joint though).

In mid May I took my S2 on my first trip to the ring. It was just a long weekend, but the car was great. Averaged ~31mpg for the overall trip. Only did 5 laps of the ring, my first 2 were wet/dry with a spin on my first lap at Kallenhard ( that scared me a little). But by lap 4 I had managed a 9:06 BTG with loads of room for improvement. I didn't time when driving and just reviewed Gopro footage afterwards. Felt quite pleased, not bad for a car that ticked over 190k on the trip.
