Cayenne 955 door mirror
Discussion
Help!
The driver's door mirror on my 2003 Cayenne no longer folds or unfolds when I turn the switch on the door pillar. The passenger side mirror does fold/unfold, but only after a 30 second delay. There is no sound from the driver's side mirror (so I don't think it's a question of broken gear teeth or anything like that).
I've changed the fuse (not listed in the handbook, but apparently it's fuse 49 in the driver's side fusebox which is just listed as 'interior mirror' but which I'm told also cover the door mirrors). I've also changed the switch itself for a second hand unit from a reliable source. Neither of these changes made any difference.
Any ideas? The driver's mirror can still be folded in and out manually, but I don't want to get my hand wet in the rain!
Thanks for any suggestions.

My garage originally thought it was the "window motor door control unit". So I bought a used one on eBay for around £80. When they tried to install it everything went cray (headlights flashing etc). So they took it out and put my old one back in - and the mirrors now fold and unfold as they should (except that the passenger's one doesn't dip when reversing, but I think I know how to fix that).
So my suggestion is 'move stuff around' and see if it helps.
Good luck!

Just spent all day trying to fix faulty RH door mirror not folding or adjusting
Finally solved the problem
Inside the A pillar is a Vertical Rectangular rubber grommet with a concertina hose going to the door it can be easily removed with your fingers or a flat screwdriver.
Underneath it there are 3 plugs which can be released by depressing the locking tabs 1 above and 2 below.
Wriggle out the plugs carefully.
All 3 had corrosion inside the terminals which I cleaned first with white vinegar then with electrical contact cleaner.and a cotton bud.
Smeared them with electrical grease( Vaseline or copper slip would do equally well) connected them back together ...everything worked fine
