Picked up our new GTS macan
Discussion
The wheels where a special order as Porsche had delays on the black spyders (standard on the GTS), so they were offering different options to buyers.
Good choice on volcano, the colour in the flesh is brilliant, a lot more metallic flake than I expected and also there are rumors the colour may be stopped according to my PCM.
The suspension setup is a notable improvement over standard, as I was not able to test drive a gts but I did drive an S. Its never going to be a sports car but you can feel the car is more direct and I don't think the ride quality has been compromised.
Are you going for the performance interior with the centre sections in suede like on the GTS - I was slightly hesitant at first but in the flesh?
Also if you have not spec'd a sunroof I would defiantly look at this as it makes the whole interior feel so much lighter, especially if you have a black interior.

Yes I've spec'ed the Pan Roof . This will be my 5th Macan now and agree it brightens the interior , it is a shame though as the Turbo has Alcantara roof lining as standard so you lose 80% of that ! . I would love to have the Alcantara centres but just cant justify the cost over the standard . Externally the only difference is I've gone Black 5 spoke classics wheel wise . Really keen to see how the GTS suspension works with the Turbo PP , as I've had a non PP Turbo previously and it was still a bit soft and quiet . The GTS suspension is supposed to be a marked improvement. Wow 5! that's impressive and I thought I was bad with the number of cars I go through.
I get you on the cost of doing the interior it is rather mad. I found paying £2.5k hard enough.
Did you manage to get one of the December build slots?
With regards to the lead in comment that seems to depend on the dealer. Some have taken a lot of orders on a gts and are quoting a year plus but I heard on the Macan forum that some dealers have a build slot for this year. It would not surprise me if this was a result of the delays and also the Turbo performance pack coming out.

Yes secured a Dec slot, think our local is getting 1 maybe 2 max. I very nearly pulled the trigger on a GTS earlier in the year as I did have the 1st deposit in , but I did think ( sorry my wife thought ) it was getting ridiculous how often I was changing cars ! My wife has GTS coming in December, just ordered this month.
There was a big UK allocation release - I think to do with currency depreciation post-Brexit which meant that UK P cars across the board were speeded up (I'm guessing they had fixed rates until the end of the year).
All things considered it's a very good car to drive, and high quality. Went with GTS leather interior to avoid kids on alcantara...

While I've got some GTS and Turbo owners on here ... What's your view on pan roof vs alcantara headlining . On any other model I'd definitely recommend pan roof , but I'm struggling with losing 80% of the alcantara ( which I love ) that comes standard on the turbo but would be £890 on any other model. Also some thoughts about potential small changes in torsional stiffness between the two...... Is it resale suicide to not have pan roof these days .
For me personally I found the pan roof almost essential to brighten up the interior and improve the feeling of space. Although I understand why you would not want to lose that headlining.
Are you going for a black interior? as I found the interior colour made a real difference to this view?
Grabbed a couple of quick shots of the interior.
And then a cheeky one next to the GT4 although its undercover and the image has made it look very long.
The reason for the cover is I don't have a garage and also our road has been resurfaced with lose stones everywhere.

I agree a GT3 RS with the macan would be the dream, maybe one day and I can hardly complain with a GT4 sitting outside.
Nice touch having them in the same colour, we nearly ordered the Macan in black but at the last minute the wife decided she wanted it in grey and I really like it against the contrast of the matt black elements.
