New 7'32s record. Mighty impressive driving. And also showing quite some commitment albeit in short sleeved polo.. Italian chilled record lap style :-)

We really need more highly boosted turbo saloons with f*ck all steering feel and an average chassis.

Phew ... And breathe ...... That is a mighty fine effort in a big lardy saloon car. Might have to have a go in one of those smile

Oh dear.. Freudian slip.. Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde indeed...

As for the lack of steering feel.. possibly, haven't driven one but reviews seem to imply not much worse than the current norm which is going towards a gloom direction.

Following article is quite telling from the first drive by C&D of the 2018 new BMW 5-series :

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2018-bmw-5-ser...

"Alexander Meske, BMW’s head of integrated application driving dynamics for the 5-series (...) He stressed that few, if any, BMW customers around the globe are requesting more tactility in their steering. Instead, the opposite is true; one of the most frequent words voiced during customer surveys is “isolation.” The buyers find that a desirable trait".

Go figure.. I find the steering on my father's 5 series pretty horrid.

I really like those, but don't need a 4 door and am a little scared of turbo engines (after finding out that I am not a good enough driver to deal with it when they bite)

Turbo engines dont bite these days, do they? Bore the tits of any decent driver, sure, but they are very linear and predictable.

Even if it was over boosted to high heaven and running slicks that would be an impresssive effort

ha is that right? Are you the guy that was running around telling some of us we were all idiots and thick for voting for Brexit too. I'd love to see how fast you are around the ring in that auto, turbo, boring saloon. I'd bet my house you couldn't get to within a minute of that time - probably because you're bored and a decent driver.

What in the name of blod are you on about?

I said none of the things to which you seem so gleefully to be responding. Straw man!

Lovely collection.
Great entertainment but looks a bloody handful to drive. Some suspension issues to sort out like it spends too much time on the rear bump stops.
