Hi all,

Anyone know how you lower the back seats in Cayenne please?

I have pulled the strap under the seat and pressed the button near the head rest. The seat is free but won't drop and it's driving me nuts! I think it is because of the cargo net thing which comes up from the bottom in the boot - is that right? If so, how do I unplug that to allow the seats to drop?

Thanks all!

Paul

You need to pull the front of the rear seat base up, then the seat base forward and then lift it forward to lean on the front seat
You cant put the rear seat back down until you have done this - the above makes space for the seat back to be able to fall forward

Do you have a manual? its all in there

Assuming it's the same as a 2003 :

The rear seats are split into a two seat part, and a single seat part. The cargo net mounts on the two seat part, but spans the single seat part.

Hence, you cannot lower the seat backs for the two seat part if the single seat part is still up. You need to put the single seat back (passenger side) down first - then you can put the dual seat backs down (driver and middle). Unless you take the net off (slide it to one side, think it's to the left - to get it off the mounts).

I find I have to remove the headrests completely if you want the seats to fold flatter

A word of warning, it may have just been my car but... On one occasion I folded the seats down, the middle seatbelt on the two seater section locked and would not release meaning neither side could be raised because the seat belt effectively locked both sides down. I tried everything to free it including stopping the car on the steepest hill I could find up and down but in the end after 3 or 4 days of fiddling and jiggling I had to cut the bracket which attaches the belt under the seat as there was just enough room to get a dremel in there. Cost me a £60 to have the bracket repaired so now if I have to fold the seats I always pull the belt out generously and attach a strong bulldog type clip to stop it retracting.smile

Thanks all for the advice, and the heads up on the middle belt. I've managed to drop the seat now - a bit crap that I can't leave the smallest seat up but at least it now works! smile

I've just been to ikea and the seats are still down, turning the cayenne into a van biggrin haha!

Hopefully the middle belt won't be an issue!

Thanks again chaps!
