Saw this while visiting a breakers today. It's looks completely rust free on the body. Tailgate was heavily corroded. Apparently runs with a miss-fire.

I have no idea if it is a RUF of some kind. Didn't look special in the engine bay. Interior looked tidy but with plenty of patina. Wiring was all dangling below the glove box.

Surely worth saving by somebody. I have no connection with the car or the breaker.

Looks like a 944 engine, so maybe just a 944 in 968 body panels. Seats look interesting, could they be Ruf ??? Definitely merits some further investigation.........

It's a 1983 944 2.5, so worth pennies, especially as the MOT expired over 12 months ago.

A sheep in wolfs clothing by the look of it then. Still looks worth saving for a track car etc?

Has potential, even though a lot of it looks odd.

Did you ask if it was for sale and how much it was?

If the door mirrors are original 968 they're worth £250 for a start.

....and similar for the clubsport steering wheel!

That's had some serious money spent on it. No advisories on the MOT's for the last 4 years so very well looked after. Stolen recovered?

Seats look barge like!

Looks like it's been in a crash looking at the shut line and the bottom of the door not lining up with front panel in a big way!!

Maybe, maybe not. But fitting wings from a 968 to an early 944 would take some serious time and effort to get them to line up correctly, so I expect that's where the problem lies. But of course it may well have been done to hide something underneath...

Either way it looks like a shed to me that's best being put out of it's misery by helping other cars to live on.

Also the dashboard has been changed, 1983 944s had the square dash. Why not just buy a 968 than do all this work, some strange people about.
